The Xisha Islands are a group of islands in Hainan Province consisting of 22 islets, seven sandbars, and over ten submerged reefs with a total land area of around ten square kilometers. Woody Island, the largest island, is home to two museums: a Naval Museum and a Maritime Museum.

Around 180 nautical miles southeast of Hainan Island are the Xisha Islands. They're surrounded by rich fishing grounds as well as possible oil and gas reserves. The months of June to August are scorching, and the island will be crowded due to the summer vacation. The months of April to November are ideal for sea swimming.

Putuoshan Island, a Buddhist Holy Land on the Sea

Zhoushan is located in Zhejiang Province, about 230 kilometers from Hangzhou.

Putuoshan Island is renowned for its rich Buddhist history and its crystal-clear seawater and beach, oddly-shaped cliffs, ancient trees, and expansive seascape. Puji Temple and Fayu Temple are the most visited temples on the island. Because of their fine sand, Baibu Beach and Qianbu Beach are the best two beaches.

Putuoshan Island

Putuo Mountain, at 288 meters, is the highest point on the island. It is one of China's four prominent Buddhist Mountains (the others being Wutai Mountain in Shanxi Province, Mount Emei near Chengdu City, and Mount Hua near Xi'an). Zhoushan City is about 100 nautical miles east of the island.

The Penghu Islands, or Pescadores Islands

The Penghu Islands are a group of 64 islands in the Taiwan Strait that occupy approximately 127 square kilometers. The Pavilion of Avalokitesvara, Shuncheng Gate, and Confucian Temple are the islands' three main attractions.

The Penghu Islands are all volcanic. The Cat Islet is the largest island, rising 79 meters above sea level. Penghu Island, Yuweng Island, and Baisha Island are the three main islands.

Penghu County, with a population of about 90,000 people, governs the Penghu Islands. The only two ways to get from Penghu County to other locations, including Taiwan and the Chinese mainland, are ship or air.

Dayushan Island: Hiking and Camping

Dayushan Island is around 21 square kilometers in size. Hongjidong Hill, at 541 meters, is the highest point on the island. The island has two reservoirs, each about 200 meters above sea level. The two lakes are approximately one kilometer apart and are surrounded by grassy hillsides. Both of these contribute to the island's beautiful grassland scenery.

Dayushan Island

The most common activities on the island are hiking and camping. The lakesides offer calm water and grassland scenery, making them ideal camping spots. Remember to carry mosquito repellent and to avoid swimming in the sea due to the strong currents.

You will interact with local families and eat with them. Marine products are their primary source of nutrition. There is also a village on the island where you can spend your holiday and small hotels with limited facilities.

The Nanji Islands

Wenzhou is in Zhejiang Province.

The Nanji Islands are made up of 52 islands, the main and the largest of Nanji Island. It is approximately 30 nautical miles from mainland China. The island's population is estimated to be around 2,000 people.

The islands have over 40 attractions, including unusual cliffs, beaches, temples, and Song Meiling's former residence. Sanpanwei Village is home to the majority of these attractions. Sanpanwei Village is the heart of the Nanji Islands, and a visit there should take about 3 hours. It's also a great spot to watch the sunrise over the water.

The island's main theme is leisure. Appreciating the vast seascapes, fishing, hiking, sampling marine cuisine, and learning about local folk customs are all recommended activities on the islands.
