The calculated average height of the wall is 6-7 meters (20-23 feet). The height is not persistent; different sections vary in height. The tallest past is around 14 meters (46 feet). The base of the wall is also not constructed on plain land so some parts are elevated. Basically its structure follows the landforms. Huanglouyuan Section is considered to be the most elevated section of the wall, located at the highest altitude, about 1,439.3 meters (4,722 feet). When it comes to the lowest point of the wall, it is Laolongtou Section which is just above the sea level.
